Jonathan Sparling, [Financial Aid Specialist]
While enrolled at Assumption College, Jonathan decided to pursue a career in Higher Education. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Jonathan started working at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI, MA) in the Student Activities Office. While there, he was responsible for advising several student groups and coordinating community service and outreach efforts for undergraduate students. After completing his Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, Jonathan moved into his current position in the Office of Financial Aid. Over the past three years, he has worked with countless students and families, assisting them with the financial aid process. Above all else, he enjoys the personal interaction aspect of his job.
On a personal level, Jonathan is very interested in the future of Higher Education, especially on-line educational offerings – There are many exciting opportunities offered through E-learning and the potential impact these opportunities have on expanding educational access for individuals that may have previously been denied is truly remarkable. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys running, hiking, camping and any other activity that will get him outside.
