Edward L. Walker
Edward Walker is an experienced educator who has committed his entire professional career to the realm of education. Whether recruiting prospective students for colleges, guiding high school students through the college application and selection process or assisting individuals to achieve their next level of education, Ed has always had the desire to aid others in educational advancement. His ultimate goal is to close the gap to inequitable access to college and knowledge.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts Ed is a product of Boston Public Schools. He graduated from Charlestown High School, in Charlestown, MA before obtaining his bachelors degree in African American Studies with a concentration in English from Bates College, in Lewiston, Maine. Additionally, he has obtained a M.Ed in School Psychology and Counseling with an initial license in School Guidance.

For five years, Ed served as the Associate Director of College Counseling and Director of Alumni Relations at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Additionally, over the last several years Ed has worked directly with Crimson Summer Academy at Harvard as the lead college counselor for their talented and gifted scholars. Prior to joining the secondary circuit, Ed was an Assistant Dean of Admissions at his alma mater and then moved on to be a Senior Assistant Director at Wheaton College, in Norton, MA. While working at both institutions, Ed led initiatives in diversity through his efforts with Multicultural Recruitment.

Ed is a long standing member of NACAC or National Association for College Admissions Counseling; NEACAC or New England Association for College Admissions Counseling; and a former member of NECBAC or New England Counselors of Color Bridging Access to College, and has become recognized for his powerful presence and deliverance during his professional presentations. Ed remains active with all three organizations by attending and presenting at annual NACAC and NEACAC conferences, and working directly with the NECBAC associated schools.

It was in 2008 that Ed founded Independent Consultants of Education (I.C.E), which is a growing consortium of educators devoted to helping individuals and groups achieve higher education, by any means, regardless of what the next step may be. In addition to his work around college planning and preparation, Ed has established himself as a influential inspirational speaker, who has impacted the lives of thousands of youth at the middle school, high school, and collegiate level.
